About the Event:
Building upon the morning’s larger group outcomes, a smaller, more personalized session will take participants into a deeper dive as to how their own EI impacts the people that surround them and teams they work with. Through this more individualized coaching session, participants will learn how to use EI to cultivate effective and innovative teams.
* Session includes breakfast and coffee/tea/juices/water for in-person attendees.
Participants will be able to –
- Define emotional intelligence and how the typical AEC emotional profile contributes to many industry problems.
- Analyze your own emotions and identify how they affect your day-to-day interactions with others and your own mental and physical performance, health, and well-being.
- Determine how emotional intelligence can be measured and improved.

Brent Darnell, Owner | President, Brent Darnell International
Brent Darnell is President and Owner of Brent Darnell International, a training and consulting company that maximizes companies’ success by tapping into people’s “soft” skills. He is the international best-selling author of “The People-Profit Connection: How Emotional Intelligence Can Maximize People Skills and Maximize Your Profits,” as well as an engineer, teacher, trainer, speaker & coach.
Brent’s history in the AEC industry dates back three generations. His grandfather was a carpenter and a painter, and Brent grew up in awe of his father, watching him build projects that shaped people’s lives and the world in which we live. Brent was the first person in his family to graduate from college, earning his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1981 then began his own construction career.
Since 2000, he has been actively teaching AEC industry professionals people skills and emotional intelligence while focusing on health, wellness, and peak performance.
