Design-Build Breaks Down Barriers
As President of the DBIA Northwest Region, I’m excited about the opportunities we must grow and strengthen our organization. Our region, and DBIA as a whole, is making great strides, but there’s still much more we can accomplish together.
One of my top priorities is increasing diverse business participation. I firmly believe that for our projects to truly reflect the communities we serve, we need more involvement from small, minority-owned, and diverse firms. We’re actively working to break down barriers, create opportunities, and ensure that these businesses have the support and resources they need to compete in design-build.
At the same time, we need to focus on the future leaders of our industry. That’s why we’re committed to growing our membership of young professionals. Their fresh perspectives and innovative approaches will keep DBIA moving forward. We’re dedicated to providing them with mentorship, networking, and growth opportunities that will help them thrive.
Another exciting development is our plan to establish new DBIA chapters in Alaska and Idaho. Both states have dynamic construction markets that are ready to embrace the design-build approach. These chapters will give us the chance to engage more professionals and extend our reach into new regions.
We’re also looking at ways to collaborate more effectively with other organizations that align with DBIA’s goals. By building stronger partnerships, we can amplify our impact, share resources, and continue to lead the way in delivering efficient, high-quality projects.
In short, the future is bright for DBIA and our Northwest Region. With a focus on increasing diversity, supporting young professionals, expanding into new territories, and fostering collaboration, we’re positioning ourselves for even greater success. I’m grateful to be a part of this journey and look forward to continuing to work together to build something incredible.
Thank you for your dedication and partnership.
