In May we formed the DBIA NW Student Scholarship Selection Committee and distributed the invitation for the 2024 DBIA NW student scholarship submissions. The selection committee included volunteers from owners, architects, engineers, and contractors from across the region.

Our committee worked to review all 28 submissions through a blind process that eliminated any potential bias. The following three students rose to the top through their strong experience, academic achievement, and community involvement. They are truly outstanding examples of the future of our Design-Build Professionals in the region. The selection process was difficult as there were many more among the applicants who rose to the top and are also exceptional students. The student scholarships will be awarded in the upcoming DBIA golf event. Please join us in congratulating @Ashlyn Heusch of Oregon State University, Emmy Farrell of Washington State University, Shaojia Fan of the University of Washington, and Braden Tarrago of the University of Washington.
Through the Ace Mentor Program of Washington, we had the privilege of awarding a 5th student scholarship to Brianna Ong. Brianna is planning on attending the University of Washington this fall as a dual major in Construction Management and Computer Engineering.
