On December 12th, Oregon’s breakfast program took place in Portland with a live stream to additional in-person gatherings in Bend and Eugene. The informative panel discussio
n recounted the 6+ year renovation of the Oregon Military Department’s Camp Umatilla site from its time as a key munitions hub during World War II to the present. Representatives from OMD, SERA Architects, Fortis Construction, PBS Engineering & Environmental, Mill Plain Electric, and Alliant Systems described the challenges of tackling a site that had been mothballed for 40 years. Attendees learned how their design-build approach helped the owner’s budget align with their programming needs while navigating particularly tricky logistics. It was excellent exposure to a remote project site that continues to support our country’s military program.
As part of the December program, the Oregon chapter hosted a raffle that raised $520 for the Oregon Food Bank.
Thank you all for attending and supporting the DBIA Northwest and Oregon Food Bank.
