The annual regional planning meeting kicked off with a bang due to the incredible host, Hennebery Eddy Architects, supported by Alyssa Peterson. Prompted by Regional President, Tim Graybeal (Lydig Construction), board members were asked to share why DBIA? Why do they choose to spend their most valuable resource, their time, supporting this organization? A common thread emerged – the idea that participating in Design-Build, Progressive or otherwise, provides more fulfillment and frankly a better quality of life than the traditional design-bid-build.
This discussion really set the stage for a wonderful day of idea sharing and discussion and as a result we have developed the key priorities for our Region for 2023.
These priorities include:
- Support and grow our Young Professional & Student Chapter groups.
- Be geographically focused in our outreach to provide Design-Build Education
- Develop introductory to advanced education and training
- Build a resource library for members and the public
