On February 27, 2020 the Oregon Chapter of DBIA will be hosting our inaugural “West Side” regional meeting and conference, “The Design-Build (R)evolution”.  This day full of informative and innovative content will also include the official confirmation of the recommended 2020 Northwest Regional Board.

The day will begin with an opportunity to network with regional colleagues during a continental breakfast. Then we’ll kick off the program with a moderated panel discussion featuring public owners from the west coast, including Portland State University, Oregon State University, Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland Community College, the University of Washington, Washington State University, and more.

The heart of the day will include the following presentations sandwiched around a break for a delicious lunch buffet:

  •  “The Shift to Progressive Design-Build with the Bonneville Power Administration”
  • “The Design/Preconstruction Manager: Keys for Success in this Pivotal Design-Build Role”
  • “How to Mass Timber: Leveraging Design-Build for Mass Timber Projects”
  • “The Evolving Role of the Engineer in Design Build”

After filling our heads with all kinds of new information, challenging preconceptions, and validating some of what we thought we knew, we will host a “Town Hall” to discuss the day, the industry, where we are headed, and how best to get there.

With a brief interlude for the Annual Membership meeting and confirmation of our new board, we will adjourn for the day and celebrate our design-build community with happy hour.

This event has been developed for you by Steve Tatge, president of the Western Washington Chapter, Carissa Linnane of the DBIA Northwest Region, and me.  We hope you are as excited about the content and opportunity to gather as we are.

Please join us in celebrating design-build and the folks in our region who are interested in and support DBIA’s effort.

We are already getting excited for our 2021 event in Seattle!
