Western Washington DBIA held its annual golf tournament Friday, June 7, 2019 at Willows Run Golf Complex in Redmond. Threat of rain didn’t keep golfer’s away, and with only two no-shows, the tournament was an absolute success. Executive director Carissa Linnane supported by her team and volunteers, managed registration and directed the days’ activities. Long-time volunteer Marjorie Chang-Fuller and DBIA NW Regional VP Katie Popolow, happily pitched in to welcome golfers while partaking in National Doughnut day.
Festivities were kicked off with a putting contest and scholarship committee chair Stacy Shewell ceremoniously delivered “big checks” to this year’s DBIA NW student scholarship recipients Martin Marcedo (ACE Mentor), Renata Popov, and Tam Nguyen.
Golf teams from all disciplines of the design-build community took part in the tournament. Teams sponsored by Mortenson Construction, Coffman Engineers, and Hoffman Construction posed for group photos as they played through.
As participants gathered under the big tent for dinner and awards ceremony, and after a full day of manning his company’s sponsored hole, Scott Ellis of ACCO Engineered Systems enjoyed some delicious BBQ.
